Fire Bruce Arians

I mean, let's stack him on a pyre with Sean Mahan as kindling and immolate his ass.

Then let's draft five offensive lineman, someone who can tackle on special teams and maybe a another slot receiver. There you go. You have your off-season assignments.

I have to say that I like this suggestion the best,

"someone who can tackle on special teams"

Giving up that long return after an opening drive TD was a total buzz kill.

steelers football = a fade to nate washington on second and goal from the 1

Bruce Arians isn't to blame. I am a huge fan of Big Ben. But all off season, and all season, they said that this was Ben's offense. So what I wanna know, is when it's 3rd and 6 with 3 mins to go, Arians calls the conservative, losing qb sneak...why didn't Ben audible out of it? He was the best steeler on the field that half, why not a pass play to Miller or Ward for 6?

I know Ben can't argue with Arians at that time, play clock, no timeouts...but I would like to think he had the stones to audible and put the game on his shoulders.

Then again, he's young.

It doesn't matter how they lost now. They would have gotten destroyed in New England again anyway, and I don't think I could take another playoff loss to the Cheaters.

Nor could I take hearing another game of Simms ripping the Steelers while saying how great golden boy Brady is.

Yeah, those fade routes were fucking terrific. Another suggestion for the off-season to-do list - how about some timing routes. As great as the "drop back, cock arm, tuck and dodge defender, roll out and throw to receiver most open after breaking off route" route is, mixing it up a little might not hurt.

Yes, we've all heard how Big Ben is making more of the calls and had a bigger hand in designing the offense this year than in year's previous. Thus, it's tough to assign ALL blame on the miserable screens and fade routes our offense rolled with this year; and why it's so inexplicable that the team didn't let a QB who is 6'5", 235lbs and has a darned good arm cock-back and throw the mofo.

Then again... Ben still has to rely a lot on the calls of his OC. I'm sure Arians was very good in letting Ben help design routes, or call the occasional audible if you saw a blitz coming (which he did a few times-- and which worked even fewer times). But Arians is miserable. He's playing the classic Browns Offense-- "Let's not lose by playing conservative football!" He's as bad as Maurice Carthon, who I'm relatively certain was mildly retarded. We need someone dynamic who TRUSTS our QB. Who cares if he hugs Ben and says: "Sure kid! Why don't you make the call?" Sometimes you have to make the right play at the right time and know how to catch a defense off-guard.

Bruce Arians should be asking people if they want to Super Size their value orders. Not calling running draw plays that a defense sniffed out :30 before they happen.

You were way ahead of the curve on this one. I was still of the "be patient" variety back in Jan.

Not now.
